Living in a foreign land
Puku Puku
Kate and I are living in our 3rd town in South America for a month now… This towns more of a city though.
Every place is different.
Every situations different.
Every season of our life’s different.
Sometimes it feels “off” being down here, but not traveling.
Getting in a routine & flow, when you “feel” as if you should be exploring more.
There’s no rhyme to why we “should” be doing something, just external triggers, thoughts, or factors.
It’s been fun getting in a routine in a foreign country, not knowing the language. Stores having everything in a different language. It reminds me of a book I loved as a kid “The old man who couldn’t read” I think was the name of it…
Making small talk in the elevator, it’s hard to start the conversation (knowing you can’t hold one very well), but the locals light up when you start speaking Spanish to them.
You always get asked the same question at some point “Tu donde eres?” (where are you from?), but they have several different ways to say this, I’m not really sure why…
The town seems to celebrate all the time, the park always has a hoard of people taking photos, or playing music, or just out enjoying the nature on a midday break or family night.
Overall, life feels pretty similar to back home just some more crazy drivers, having to boil water for drinking water (we call it harvesting the water) and putting your toilet paper in the trash instead of the toilet (I can honestly say this is what I miss most about the States…)
Whatever you’re doing right now, or going through, or enjoying… Just remember there’s hundreds of people around the world in the same or very similar situation.

Puku Puku Coffee was under construction the first time we came.
Planning
We’ve been planning the next leg of the journey, it looks like we aren’t going to The Amazon…
I had a dream to go there, and I felt very called to about a month ago.
However, now it doesn’t feel as urgent.
Plans change over time, and in those moments the calling would have been answered.
However I waited and the energy shifted, if something returns to tell me to go I’ll know it’s the time again.
But…
We are planning the last leg of the Adventure in Suda Merica!
We’re looking at taking it to the Caribbean, the thought of ending somewhere tropical, with blue water, warm weather, and coconut trees sounds nice before heading back into winter!
As of now Dominican Republic is top of our list, we’ll see how it unfolds.

Planning the next stop
Routine
The routines been nice here, early mornings are overcast, humid, and cool.
Running cliffside overlooking the ocean is beautiful.
There’s a lot of energy of other people out running.
It’s such a good way to start the day.
However it’s good to get in a routine, it’s always great to switch up your routine or try something new.
Stepping out of your comfort zone is the best way to transform the mundane into something new, exciting, and stimulating!
If it scares you it’ll make you feel alive.
And that’s a huge threat to us as humans is not feeling alive, just living in the mundane.
Sometimes it’s necessary, but it’s always a good reminder to be conscious of the routine and when you need to switch it up.
I’m keeping this one short & sweet.
Enjoy the day and don’t hesitate to step out of your comfort zone…
You never know where it will lead you.
Cheers,
Me
