A New Season Of Adventure
Back On U.S. Soil, But Not Done Yet!
Waddup!
Last weeks edition was missed in the chaos of Florida life, I hadn’t even realized until 2 days had passed…
But we’re back baby, and the adventure’s far from being over even though we’re back stateside.
Firstly I’ll start with saying Florida’s still more of it’s own glorious country than a part of the United States…!
And there’s still more things that wanna kill you here than you’ll find in Colombia.
Secondly I hope everyones had a fantastic holiday, it was the first time I spent it home with the family in 4 years, and this families doubled in size since then!
Coming back from Colombia was easy cheesy.
We left Palomino and hopped on a bus, to a taxi, to another bus, to Cartagena and booked our hostel in the final bus (we didn’t get to stay at the spot we stayed the first time, but would highly suggest it if you visit! It was called Hostel Del Pozo Boutique and was very affordable, nice, and had a great breakfast!
When we landed in Cartagena it was already night, but it was our final night in South America and we wanted to check out the town some more…
An ex coworker of mine told me one of the top 50 bars in the world was in Cartagena and we had to see it (Number 1 bar in South America, #10 in the world)
So we headed out into the chaotic streets of Cartagena for one last experience.
The bar was located about 10 blocks away, inside the old fort…
We knew it was a touristic area over there, but hadn’t made it by when we stopped thru the first time.
Not realizing it was such a hot spot for night clubs, bars, horses & carriages, and street vendors we were quite surprised to find it so alive (on a Tuesday..)!
Unfortunately, due to dress code reasons we weren’t allowed in Bar Alquímico… But we found a nice spot around the corner.
The bartender had some flair & knowledge.
The next day getting back to the States was fairly easy, except customs in Cartagena pulled me aside to go through my bag 2 times…

I’ll miss the Street Art

Bars are made by the atmosphere
Now What?
Originally the plan was to hang in Florida for 6 weeks, and head back to the mountains between Christmas and the New Year.
However with all things in life plans can change at the drop of a hat…
Florida’s come with some chaotic and fun family time, however Katie landed a stellar deal on a car out in Colorado for me, plus she has her ski coaching job starting and we want to get our housing situated for the winter season.
The adventure and exploration was a great time, and even though we’ve been working while traveling it’s not time for a season of building.
We’ve already started, but once we get back to Colorado the serious building starts.
A lots been learned while traveling, and working, working with some different business models has greatly increased my understanding of business models and where I want to zone my work in.
So I’ll be extremely excited for this season of life, since I now feel ready to focus on two things… Skiing & Business.
Which brings me to this next part…

Got to stay at Camp with the parents

Wedding photos
P.S. Congrats to my childhood friend Gareth and his wife Gina for the wedding! It was a great time, food was amazing, and it’s the reason we came back to the States!
Black Friday!
Everyone and their mom that I follow is promoting their Black Friday deals online.
I should have been more prepared for myself with this time coming up.
But I wasn’t..
And that’s alright, I’ve been studying and watching a lot of deals online so I can be ready to execute next year… And give out some AMAZING deals!

We got the hat & books
Sessions League
Kate’s been cookin up something sick over the summer…
We’ve been on calls with lawyers, insurance companies, and ski athletes getting a ground level understanding and building for this.
Releasing it to the public just before we hopped on a bus back to Cartagena (we almost missed the bus because of it)…
It’s a new style of Ski Comp focused on allowing skiers to highlight their creativity in skiing over the strict technique most organizations stick to.
It’s athlete judged, and the buy in goes to a jackpot.
We’re still in early stages talking to mountains, and getting legalities figured out.
But we’re trying to bring an OG person that put snowboarding on the map to help with some credibility to the mountains, because they’ve been through it before.

You can find the website from there.
It’ll be growing over time and we’re stoked for it…!

Let’s Goo!
Seasons Of Life
As mentioned earlier, we’re all in our own seasons of life.
Sometimes we’re learning, applying, executing, or wandering…. And sometimes outright LOST!
I’ve been in the lost/wandering phase before for quite sometime.
I think the main reason for the “Lost” stage is a lack of direction.
When you have a direction you want to go in life, you know what to do.
It’s easier to wake up early, you get excited for everyday.
Because you’re working towards a vision.
However, it’s easy to get lost and focused on the end goal forgetting that you’re in the middle of the journey to that end goal.
If you can’t fall in love with the journey, it’s easy to burn out.
You gotta celebrate the small wins!
So this season for me is building, and I’ve never been more ecstatic about it! The instability of the adventure has been fun, and a great time for learning. But now I’m excited to see what I can put into this next part of the journey, and there’s a level of stability that’s needed to build & focus.

To Be Continued…
I wasn’t sure if I’d continue the blog after returning to be honest.
Was it just to write about the travels, and have a home to return and ruminate on the past & remember the small details about being on the road?
Or just for my mom, nieces, and nephew to follow along?
But now that I’m back, the adventures far from over.
I’ve lived my life like an adventure always, day to day getting out and exploring, trying new things, or trying to push myself…
The blog’s gonna continue also.
I wish I had captured moments from my past adventures from living in my truck, working in a National Park, starting a Bartending business, opening a bar in Vail and making the entire cocktail list, side work list, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the bar.
I wish I had captured it all more in depth!
And now we’re getting back into skiing (my 4th year on skis) and it’s going hand in hand with a heavy emphasis on business!
I’m gonna be capturing more of it on my Instagram @eliotkoe also.
In addition I’ll be focusing on bringing in more people onto my blog (sorry mom, it’s not just for you anymore!)
It’s gonna be focused on Life and follow my Seasons of life.
Biig emphasis on Business (and biz models), Adventure, and Lifestyle.
And always taking suggestions on topics to talk about!
Cheers!

P.S.
“The first time out of the country was for 6 months on a one-way ticket to South America! Having no idea when I was returning, or where I was going here’s a first take on what it’s like to dive into the unknown of the world and traveling”
I’m sending out an extra post this week!
Kate’s giving her run down on what the experience was like leaving The States for the first time, into a country that most folk around here call “extremely dangerous” and going on a one-way ticket and her tax return to see what the hell life’s really about.
Stay tuned.
