Different Paths...
How we got here...
Paths 👣
As our time in Lima comes to an end I find myself thinking a lot about paths.
Each step along our journey of life we’re presented with different paths, roads, or choices.
Each one plays to a different experience for us.
Different people we’ll meet, places we’ll experience, influences in our behavior, habits we’ll pick up, skills we’ll learn, feelings we’ll have, the list goes on and on.
This makes life so exciting, because you never know the outcome or the right path to take.
You have to pick a path, and make a decision.
It can be scary to make a decision, take that leap of faith, throw yourself into the unknown.
But if I’ve learned anything it’s that the universe caters to those who believe in it, and pursue their personal dreams.
But the thing about that is that it’s always gonna be the unknown, you’ll never know the outcome of those choices.
So it’s easy to wait to know the “right” choice.
But you won’t know, until you’ve walked that path.
That’s something I’ve struggled with a lot in my life, analysis paralysis if you may.
“What’s the right choice?” “How do I know if I should do that?”
I’d ask my dad a lot when I came to these decisions.
He always gave me the same answer “Go with your gut”.
So vague, how do I know what my gut says??
I’d get a little frustrated sometimes, trying to figure this out..!
But, it’s the best lesson I could have ever learned, it’s the best advice anyone can ever give.
Because no one knows the outcome, no one knows the “right” or “wrong” choice.
Everyones story is different and unfolds in it’s own way.
When you “Go with your gut” when it gets hard then you learn how to listen to your gut, to trust your gut.
It’s like teaching a man how to fish.
Imagine if every time I asked for advice he told me what to do?
I’d never be able to think for myself, and I’d essentially be living his life.
Also going into the unknown is part of the adventure.
If we knew the outcome of movies, shows or books we wouldn’t be as intrigued in them.
The outcomes a by product of the story, and good stories are only made from taking a leap into the unknown.
A bit of a rant today, but I think about this a lot.
Every choice I’ve made or didn’t make.
Everyone I’ve met or didn’t meet.
Has brought me here, to this point.
And let me tell you, it’s always been unknown.
And it still is, I have a plan and an ideal outcome for this ski season and getting back to the states.
But I have no idea how it’s gonna unfold, what it’ll look like, I have no housing setup or car.
But I know I’ll be on the adventure of making it happen, every step I take forward is like putting a brick in place to achieve what I’m going for.
And if I don’t make it happen?
Well I’m listening to Arnold Schwarzenegger on this one.
Screw a Plan B.

Sweet path on Saturday we took - we ran into a dog costume contest at a Creperie
Day Of The Dead
It’s Halloween week…
Halloweens like a national holiday in Peru.
The celebration started last night we heard, with live music and dancing.
And it lasts until November 1st, everyone has the day off on Halloween.
I woulda loved that as a kid, Halloween was my favorite!
It makes sense though, think about it.
It’s essentially like memorial day but for everyone.
It’s a day to celebrate the dead, and everyone that’s passed.
So why do we just use it to dress up as monsters, ghosts, and heroes?
It’s really fun that’s for sure, and helps you dream as a kid.
But it’s also a day that you can take to honor everyone thats passed away.
I’m excited to see how the festivals play out down here as it’s quite a big deal!

I guess it’s also time for Christmas Shopping…
Onwards
We’re getting ready to head to Colombia on Thursday.
A final 2 weeks in South America before our wild Florida adventure begins…
I’m extremely excited to be enjoying the wild Florida springs, swamps, beaches, and family!
And the weather, Florida weather the best.
But before then Colombia, we’ll arrive in the big city of Cartagena, I’ excited to see what it holds.
From there we’ll head North to a smaller beach, and into an oceanside National Parque, then we plan on heading into the jungle for a week.
We’ve considered a 5 day trek to “The Lost City” but aren’t positive yet, we’re gonna see how it plays out when we get there.
As I said before, I won’t get totally caught up in getting to Florida or the outcome of Colombia, because we never know what could happen.
I’ll see you in Colombia.
Cheers,
Me
